About AmICovered
What this tool does
AmICovered reads your home insurance policy document and compares your coverage against CI's market database of home insurance products. You receive a factual scorecard showing where your cover is strong, typical, or weak relative to the market.
Upload your policy PDF and we extract the coverage features from it. We then compare those features against our database to show you where you sit. The entire analysis typically takes under two minutes.
Data sources
Market comparisons are drawn from the CI Product Intelligence database, which covers home insurance products from over 90 brands in the UK market. This database is maintained by Consumer Intelligence and updated regularly as products change.
Market data was last updated in April 2026.
Limitations
This tool provides factual comparisons only. It does not offer financial advice, product recommendations, or suggest you switch provider. Coverage comparisons are based on the features we can extract from your document. Where features are ambiguous or absent, we report “Unclear” rather than making assumptions.
Your policy's value to you depends on many personal factors that a comparison tool cannot assess. Always read your policy documents carefully.
Regulatory context
AmICovered is an information service. It is not regulated by the FCA as it does not provide personal recommendations. The tool shows factual information about your policy relative to the market. This is not a regulated activity under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.
If you need financial advice about your insurance, please consult a qualified financial adviser. You can find an adviser through the Money Helper service at moneyhelper.org.uk.
Privacy
Your policy document is processed to extract coverage facts only. No personal information is stored. The PDF is deleted immediately after analysis. We store only the structured coverage features extracted from your document, not the document itself, and not any personal details it may contain.
This tool is part of Consumer Intelligence's ViewsBank research programme. By using the tool you contribute anonymised usage data to our understanding of how consumers engage with insurance information.
